Terms of Service
The basis on which we take on work, what our fees cover, what we can and cannot promise, and how either of us can end the engagement.

1. Who we are
This website is operated by Marriage Legal, a legal-services facilitation practice with its office at , Gurugram.
2. This website is information, not advice
Everything on this site is general information about marriage registration procedure in Delhi NCR. It is not legal advice for your circumstances, and reading it does not create a lawyer–client relationship. Procedures, government fees and portal requirements are set by state governments and change from time to time.
3. When an engagement begins
We are engaged only when we have given you a written scope and quote, you have accepted it, and the agreed fee has been paid. Enquiries, calls and WhatsApp messages before that point do not create an engagement.
4. Fees
Fees are quoted in two parts: government fees payable to the relevant authority, and our professional fee. Government fees are set by the state and paid to the treasury; we provide the receipt. Professional fees cover the scope described in your quote. Work outside that scope is quoted separately before it is done.
5. Refunds
Government fees are generally not refundable once paid, whatever the outcome. Professional fees are refundable in proportion to work not yet performed, if you end the engagement before completion.
6. What we cannot promise
We cannot guarantee an outcome or a date. Statutory periods — notably the 30-day notice under the Special Marriage Act — cannot be shortened by anyone. Appointment availability, officer discretion and portal downtime are outside our control. What we commit to is telling you the realistic position honestly and doing the work properly.
7. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for giving us accurate information and genuine documents, attending appointments in person as required, and bringing witnesses who meet the requirements. We cannot act on documents we have reason to believe are false, and we will end an engagement if we discover that they are.
8. Confidentiality
We keep your matter confidential. See our privacy policy.
9. Limitation of liability
Our liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the professional fee paid to us for that engagement. We are not liable for consequential losses, including missed travel, visa or employment deadlines, except where these result from our own negligence.
10. Ending the engagement
Either of us may end the engagement in writing at any time. We will hand over your documents and account for fees.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction.
