Same-day appointments across Delhi NCR & Gurugram +91

Who we are

About Marriage.Legal

We are a marriage registration practice based in Gurugram, working across Delhi NCR. We do one thing: get couples from wherever they are to a marriage certificate they can actually use — without the guesswork, the wasted appointments and the contradictory advice that surrounds this process.

Why this exists

Marriage registration in India is not legally complicated. It is administratively confusing, which is a different problem and in some ways a worse one. Three states in NCR run three different systems. The word “court marriage” means two different things depending on who is saying it. Half the advice online conflates registering an existing marriage with solemnising a new one, and the two have completely different timelines.

The result is couples turning up at the wrong office with the right documents, or the right office with a name spelled two ways, or booking a flight around a same-day promise that was never possible for their case. We started this practice to remove that layer of confusion.

How we work

We tell you the real timeline first

Before anything else, we work out which Act applies and what it actually takes. If your case cannot be done in the timeframe you are hoping for, you hear that on the first call, not after you have paid. The 30-day notice under the Special Marriage Act is statutory and we will not pretend otherwise.

We read documents adversarially

Most rejections are not missing documents — they are documents that disagree with each other. We read your file the way the counter will read it, looking for the mismatch, before you book an appointment rather than after you lose one.

We split the quote

Government fees and professional fees on separate lines, always, with the receipt for the government portion. See how we quote.

We keep your file private

We do not publish couples’ photographs or names on this website, we do not discuss files with anyone other than the two of you, and correspondence goes to whichever number and email you nominate. For couples marrying against family wishes this is not a nicety, it is the point.

What we handle

Court marriage under the Special Marriage Act; marriage registration and certificates under the Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh rules; Hindu Marriage Act registration; Arya Samaj marriages; nikah and Christian marriage registration; inter-caste and inter-religion cases; NRI and foreign-national marriages; Tatkal and urgent filings; and apostille or attestation where the certificate is going abroad. All thirteen routes are set out on the services page.

Where we work

SDM offices across all eleven Delhi districts. The Registrar of Marriages at Gurugram, Manesar and Faridabad, and the Tehsildars for rural Haryana. Sub-Registrar offices at Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. For protection petitions: the Delhi High Court, the Punjab & Haryana High Court, and the district courts at Tis Hazari, Patiala House, Saket, Karkardooma, Rohini, Dwarka, Gurugram, Faridabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad.

A note on what we are not

We are a legal-services facilitation practice, not a substitute for advice on your specific circumstances. Where a case needs litigation — a protection petition, a contested objection, recognition of a foreign divorce — we say so and work with counsel rather than pretending it is paperwork.

Next step

Tell us your situation. We’ll tell you the fastest legal route.

A ten-minute call is usually enough to work out which Act applies to you, which office you file at, and how long it will take. No charge for that call.
